Solh Cotton Multi Cushion Cover

The ‘Solh’ cushion cover from the Sarita Handa Suzani Retrospective collection displays a rising Sun that radiates life and energy, causing beautiful flowers to bloom. This embroidery art form hails from Central Asia in the 18th century. Creating a Suzani was often a community activity. Women in a tribe worked together on larger pieces, such as those used for decorating homes or for wedding trousseaus. ‘Solh’ means peace. The ivory based of our ‘Solh’ cushion cover, with intricate crewel embroidery, using dori and thick yarns for a raised effect, is an homage to this rich heritage.
